PRP’s benefit is the ability to precisely deliver multiple, complementary growth factors at the injury site in a powerful biological and physiological concentration.
Please contact Alocuro and we can provide practitioners with relevant research articles on the benefits of PRP.
Does the Platelet Concentration Matter?
Yes – the published evidence has been performed on “platelet-rich plasma” not “plasma” being injected. A blood tube type PRP that collects all of the plasma from the centrifuged sample is simply collecting whole blood depleted of RBCs. The platelet concentration of the PRP sample can be no greater than 1.5x baseline, when all of the platelets are collected - which published evidence has demonstrated to not be the case. Some tube systems may only have platelet collection efficiency of 60% or less.
Alocuro has a platelet collection efficiency of 90-95% and has the ability to concentrate the platelets in to a plasma volume that is 10% of the whole blood volume. This leads to a PRP with platelet concentration as high as 9x baseline, but usually a platelet concentration of 4-5 x baseline is used for skin and hair PRP procedures (collect larger PRP volume, plasma that is 15 or 20% of initial blood volume).
